My Awesome Recipe!

Updated on July 25, 2013

My Eggy-Bread Recipe

This is a relatively new recipe that I tried, and I love it!

I'm always looking for new things to add with food so it isn't "boring" or "plain".

I like adding spices and herbs, especially Parsley!

I decided this would be the best one to share first, mostly because it's the only one I've taken step-by-step photos of. However, I'm hoping to add another favourite recipe to this lens when I decide to make it and take those photos.

Enjoy!

All photos regarding the recipe are from me, and cannot be used by anyone else without my permission (though I have no idea why anyone would, this is just a copyright thing).

Eggy-Bread is what my Mum has always called French-Bread, and, well, the name stuck.

What You Will Need

  1. Bowl (mixing or otherwise - so long as it's big enough to put bread in)
  2. Frying Pan (preferably large to fit slices in side-by-side)
  3. Spatula
  4. Fork/Whisk
  5. Plate, Fork and Knife

You can change a few things in this, like using oil instead of butter. It comes down to personal preference.

Ingredients

  • Eggs (2/3 depends on bread)
  • Bread (2-4 depends on size)
  • Butter
  • Any Spices (Curry powder/pepper/cinnamon)
  • Herbs - any/finely cut
  • Flake (or any chocolate!)

Instructions

  1. - First, whisk X amount of eggs.
  2. - Add the spices (as much as you want), followed by any herbs or other ingredients you have prepared.
  3. - Melt butter in the frying pan on low while saturating the first piece of bread. By the time it's covered in eggy-goodness, the butter will have melted enough for you to move it all around the pan then place the bread in. Keep on low (you don't want it cooking faster or burning) while you prepare the other pieces then place them in as well. Now you can up the heat a bit if you like.
  4. - You will have the majority of herbs (or whatever you added) left in the bowl. Simply pour it on the pieces of bread and spread it around so there isn't a clump in the middle of them. Remember, don't have the heat on high as you could burn the outside while the inside is still soggy. Try and keep it between low and medium so they cook right through. (while you're waiting, crush/grate the chocolate and maybe get your drink ready)
  5. - Once cooked, place them on a large plate then sprinkle the Flake (or the type of chocolate you chose) over them.
  6. - Enjoy!!
